![]() This academic year they will engage in a full Master degree course load while simultaneously continuing their teaching positions. JPLA Fellows recently began the two-year program. These Fellows will earn a NC school principal license and a Master of School Administration degree through NC State’s JPLA. The rigorous admissions process identified 11 passionate, energetic, and effective educators who were selected to become JPLA Fellows. The day included reaction and response to two difficult leadership scenarios, an interview, and concurrent activities. JPLA applicants participated in NC State’s MSA Candidate Assessment Day on January 20th, 2018. Many JPLA applicants already serve in Johnston County public schools. NELA earned the honor of being named an Exemplary Educational Leadership Program by the University Council for Educational Administration. JPLA was modeled after NC State’s nationally recognized Northeast Leadership Academy (NELA). ![]() A grant from the state of NC through the North Carolina Alliance for School Leadership Development (NCASLD) funds JPLA, including full scholarships for JPLA’s newly admitted Fellows. ![]() This new cohort will work with Johnston County Public Schools in Smithfield, North Carolina. After a rigorous candidate assessment process, Fellows have been selected for one of the newest Principal Preparation programs, The Johnston Principal Leadership Academy (JPLA). NC State continues to work to prepare excellent leaders to serve in North Carolina’s schools. ![]()
